I've loved clay for as long as I can remember. When I was eight, I asked Santa for a pottery wheel — a gloriously silly little thing I had absolutely no control over. I mostly made pinch pots on it. But I was hooked: not on the wheel, on the feeling of building something with my own two hands.

That love followed me everywhere. In high school I took every clay class I could. In college I was a biology major who kept wandering back to the sculpture studio. Then I became a mom, and I needed something that was just mine — so I signed up for night pottery classes. I loved them, but a couple of hours a week was never enough time to dream up an idea, actually make it, and clean up. So I decided to bring the studio home — and not long after, I had a kiln and every supply I could justify in my own space. That was two years ago, and I haven't looked back.

Everything I make is hand-built — never thrown. I love the control it gives me: the slow work, the tiny details, the way I can zone out and let a piece become exactly what I pictured. No two pieces come out alike, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

If you look closely, you'll see two things again and again: elephants and the evil eye. I've loved elephants since I was a little girl — one of my earliest and favorite memories of my dad is him coming home from work with a stuffed elephant for me. They stand for strength, wisdom, and good luck. The evil eye is an ancient symbol of protection, meant to watch over you and keep negativity away. Together, they're my way of tucking a little love and luck into everything I make.
